Standalone

Manual

Kiosk installation

  • 1. Design a maintenance access for the control box.
  • 2. Place the kiosk away from direct and indirect sunlight. The human eye adjust to the surrounding environment, thus locating a shaded place for the CrystalFrame is ideal.
  • 3. Multiple attachments can be connected into the control box: motion sensors, motorized equipment, speakers, cameras, microphones, printers and many more.

Flat cable connection

To make the appropriate connection, the flat cables must be connected on the same side and in the same order A to A, B to B, all boards facing up. Example: Connector A is connected on the right side of the PCB, it must be connect to the A side on the control box, which is the left side.

Note: The screen will appear black if the flat cable are connected in reverse order. It will not damage the CrystalFrame, unplug the flat cables and make the correct connection.

Flat cable installation

  • 1. Many configuration of flat cables are achievable, we recommend pre-folding the cables at 90° before making the appropriate connection to the CrystalFrame. See image.
  • 2. The flat cables can be folded carefully to go around the aluminum strip and joined to a corner of the screen.
  • 3. Place the cable in the proper direction, with the copper contacts against those of the ports.
  • 4. The plastic finishing (CRF-PLC-001) can cover the wiring for a neat finish.

Flat cable connector

1. Place the flat cable metal connection toward the connector

2. Carefully place each side notch in the connector’s bracket

3. Carefully close the top hatch of the connector. If the connector is misaligned, it can cause damage, see below.

Additional important information

* Be careful in making the connection, if the connector is misaligned, it can shortcut the display processor, causing permanent damage.

The connector is perpendicular to the display PCB, both notches are in place.

The connector is not perpendicular to the display PCB, only one notch in place. This will short-circuit the board. Beware.

Nano-flat cables important information

* Be careful with the nano-flat cables. They are the most fragile part of the CrystalFrame. The display PCB has been fixed to the aluminum strip to reduce its exposure to possible physical disturbance.
Inappropriate manipulation or installation of the plastic finishing could permanently damage the screen.
Do not touch the nano-flat cable in any case.

Plastic finishing placement

Step 1. Align the plastic finishing to the CrystalFrame aluminum strip
Step 2. Carefully place the plastic cover without touching the nano-flat connections.

LED strip installation

  • 1. Place the LED strip around the frame on the indicated surface.
  • 2. The strip must start at one corner and end a the same corner

Additional Information

Remove visible corner light spills by breaking associated resistors. Each resistor covers 3 consecutive LED.

The LED strip should run on the outside of the visible glass area.

The LED strip should run on the outside of the visible glass area.
